The NFL's regular season has reached the final week, and while much of the playoff picture has been solidified, plenty more spots remain up for grabs. Heading into the weekend, only two official playoff seedings had been solidified, with the NFC South champion Buccaneers claiming the fourth seed and the wild-card Giants locked into the NFC's sixth seed. The playoff picture received quite a bit more clarity on Thursday when the NFL officially announced the Bengals-Bills game from Week 17 would not be resumed, which solidified Cincinnati as AFC North champions for a second straight year. It also took the Bengals out of contention for the No. 1 seed and put the Chiefs in control of their own destiny in the spot. By the end of Sunday's early games, the AFC playoff picture had been finalized, and after the late afternoon slate, only Packers-Lions remains to settle the NFC's No. 7 seed. The last team can either be the Seahawks or the Packers. Here's what you need to know about the current NFL playoff picture heading into the last week of the season. Kansas City Chiefs (first-round bye) The Chiefs locked down the No. 1 seed with their victory over the Raiders in Week 18. 2. Buffalo Bills vs. 7. Miami Dolphins The Dolphins pulled out a late win against the Jets to claim the final AFC playoff spot and a trip to Buffalo to face the Bills. 3. Cincinnati Bengals vs. 6. Baltimore Ravens The Bengals' win against the Ravens in Week 18 ensured a rematch between the division rivals in Cincinnati to open the playoffs. 4. Jacksonville Jaguars vs. 5. Los Angeles Chargers This will be a fun matchup of young, exciting quarterbacks playing well at the same time. The Jaguars have rattled off an impre sive 7-2 run after eliminating the Titans on Saturday and the Chargers locked in the No. 5 seed before playing on Sunday. MORE: 1. Philadelphia Eagles (first-round bye) What once seemed to be a foregone conclusion is now anything but. The Eagles have seemingly had the No. 1 seed wrapped up for a while, but that's no longer the case. Philadelphia now needs either a Cowboys' lo s to the Commanders or a win against the Giants to seal the first-round bye. The Eagles are still in the driver's seat, but there's more pre sure Jim McMahon Jersey in Week 18 than there might have been two weeks ago. 2. San Francisco 49ers vs. 7. Seattle Seahawks The Seahawks are sitting in perhaps the most precarious playoff position of all teams right now. The only NFC wild-card not locked in, Seattle can win on Sunday against the Rams and still be eliminated if the Packers beat the Lions on "Sunday Night Football." The 49ers, meanwhile, find themselves still in contention for the No. 1 seed in the NFC if the Eagles lose to the Giants and San Francisco beats the Cardinals. 3. Minnesota Vikings vs. 6. New York Giants There's maybe the least amount of drama surrounding the playoff positioning here. The Vikings can move out of the No. 3 seed only if they win and the 49ers lose to the Cardinals. Otherwise, this playoff matchup will stay exactly as is. The Giants are completely locked into the No. 6 seed, which means they will face either the 49ers or Vikings in the first round. 4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. 5. Dallas Cowboys Dallas finds itself in a position a few weeks ago it might not have conceived of, which is having a chance to secure the NFC East and the No. 1 seed. It will need some help though. It needs to beat the Commanders on Sunday and for the Giants to beat the Eagles to win the division. It would also need a lo s from the 49ers to secure the No. 1 seed. An Eagles win or tie solidifies Dallas as the No. 5, as would a lo s or tie from Dallas. Tampa Bay can go into its matchup with Atlanta knowing that a losing record of 8-9 still keeps it at No. 4 and in a position to host either the Cowboys or Eagles, who will each finish with at least four more wins.
